Our Baking Story

My passion for baking began in my grandmother's kitchen when I was a child. After retiring from my 25-year career as an educator in 2018, I founded my own bakery ~ Fort Mill Bakery ~ with the innocent dream of our daughter, who met "The Cake Boss" at age 10. We have 3 kids also. My youngest graduates from Catawba Ridge this spring. My o

But it was my daughter's "dream" which furthered my passion for baking delicious treats that bring people together.
. . . Great food + love = family ...and it doesn't have to be mine, which is why I love creating desserts for you & yours! Most of our recipes have been passed down through generations and many of the recipes were shared with me by my grandmothers, who not only taught me what I know about baking, but the love put in it that brings others together. At Fort Mill Bakery, we keep innovating and creating new flavors and designs in every custom order. I am thankful that we continue to grow in every way each year, we are blessed to do so, by your continued support.

We proudly display our Grade A rating & Food Manager’s Certificate. It's proof that we follow the SC Department of Agriculture’s food safety protocols when we create our desserts. We'll continue doing things the right way. If we can't do it right, then we won't do it at all. That was my father's philosophy for life, and it's a good one to follow in all aspects.

Easter Treats anyone?
At Fort Mill Bakery, we cherish times with family just as much as you do, Easter is a time of renewal, but also a time to share family memories.
My "Gram K" was so proud of the nickname I gave her that she got a license plate that said "Grams 8" so in honoring my memories of her (she would have been 100 this year)
I'm going to be re-creating the Easter Cake she made (pictured above)and offering it to you as the showstopper it is for your Easter dessert table.
